MacPhail Family Wines launch in Penn!

Small lot pinot noir producer James MacPhail has launched his brand into the Pennsylvania market for the first time.  MacPhail produces less than 6000 cases annually and focuses on small lot Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast.

Three wines will be carried by Capital Wines and Spirits and be sold exclusively into fine dining restaurants.  Wildcat Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009, Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009 as well as his Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2009 will begin shipping effective March 1st.

This makes only the 14th market in the US where MacPhail is available to the trade with 40% of his highly rated wines shipping to wine list members.  James started his brand in 2002 while working for Merry Edwards and then built a winery in Healdsburg, Ca in 2007.  MacPhail produces a total of 11 singel vineyard Pinot Noirs along with one Rose and a Chardonnay fromt he Gap's Crown Vineyard.

James' wife Kerry stated that "We have a lot of fans in Pennsylvania and since we are unable to ship direct, it made sense to open the market."
